Sellers in any market around the country have to be prepared for deals that fall through and multiple inspections on their homes. Here in Greenwich, it is possible for this to happen for a variety of reasons. Sometimes the prospective buyer can’t get the financing they were hoping for, sometimes the buyer simply gets cold feet and sometimes the inspection turns up issues that the buyer is unwilling to accept. If the later happens, the seller would be wise to repair the major issues that turned up so that the next transaction won’t be killed in the same way. That being said, different inspectors find different things and have a different opinion on the severity of an issue. The home owner should have his own contractor come and make a determination on the possible
repair. Then based on the findings and the associated cost, the seller and his realtor can make an educated decision on the best plan of attack.
